Political outfits join human chain against Siruvani issue



An all-party human chain was flagged off at Gandhipuram by K. Ramakrishnan, Secretary, Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kalagam, condemning the Kerala Government against construction of dam at Attapadi.

Members of Aam Aadmi Party, Viduthalai Siruthaigal, Kongu Jananayaga party along with members of various organisations participated in the human chain. 

K. Ramakrishnan of TPDK and Organiser of the all-party protest stated to the press that, Kerala has begun the preliminary works towards construction of the dam. The central government with immediate effect should intervene in the issue, as the water from Siruvani is the prime source for farmers around Kongu region. He apprised that, If the issue is unresolved, they would intensify their protests by blocking the TN- Kerala borders, which would drastically influence the economy in Kerala.
