Following the murder of Sasikumar, the activists of the Hindu Munani party have been staging protests and riots at many places in the City. Educational institutions, Commercial establishments remain closed at most parts.

At Vincent Road, the agitators marched towards Oppanakara Street and damaged the properties and shops in the area. Many shops in Town hall, Oppanakara street, Marakkadai were targeted during the attack.
Head constable Balasundaram and Constable Vinod , who were deployed for security were also assaulted in the commotion.

Near, Irudhaya theatre, the scuffle between the 'two gangs' lead to tension, the police arrested the agitators and cleared the situation.



Buses, shops have been targeted at many places in RS Puram, Kembatti Colony, Ganapathy, Sundarapuram. The police have doubled up the security and set a keen watch on the situation.

In Karumbukkadai area, the agitators raised slogans and demanded the shopkeepers to close the shops, with immediate effect. The agitators and the shopkeepers got onto to a tussle over the issue. The police intervened and cleared the situation.
