Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterologists (IASG) will conduct its 'Silver Jubilee Annual National Conference' here at the Codissia trade fair complex, from 6th to 9th October. About 1500 National and International surgeons are expected to participate in this four-day conference.

Close to 380 research articles are scheduled to be presented in the conference. Dr. P. Senthilnathan and Dr. S. Rajapandian, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologists are the organising secretaries of this conference. Dr. Parthasarathi will chair the surgical workshop.
The experts from the Gastroenterology fields will discuss in detail on the current methodologies to treat cancer related to gastrointestinal tract. A live surgery telecast will be hosted from Gem Hospital to the conference hall at Codissia in 4K resolution and in 3D format. The first international summit for on laparoscopic pancreatic surgeries will also be conducted at the conference. Dr. P.Senthilnathan, Liver Surgeon from GEM Hospital who is also the committee member representing India in this forum, has stated that 'the main aim of this meet is to popularise Laparoscopic Liver Surgeries in Asia Pacific Regions'.
