Elephants rampages home and farm near Siruvani

Two houses, farmlands, and water tanks were damaged by a herd of elephants that went on a rampage at Siruvani and adjoining villages. 

A couple of days back, a herd of elephants crossed the Siruvani road from Mulliangadu and entered the fields of Muttathu Vayal and rampaged the crops and farmlands. The group moved on to Kulatheri and damaged two houses and water tanks. The people were horrified as the herd seemed to be enraged. The villagers sought the help of the forest officials. 

After an intensive drive for nearly four hours, the forest personnel from along with the villagers burst firecrackers and chased them into Thaandikandi reserve forest area.
