Southern Railway will take up the work of replacing steel girders at road under Bridge No.528 at Madukkarai Railway Station Yard on 2nd and 3rd October 2016(Sunday and Monday). The existing steel girders of the Road Over Bridge, which are found to be corroded, will be replaced with Concrete girders.
The Bridge No.528 enables the crossing of Palakkad - Coimbatore Road beneath the Railway track at Madukkarai Yard. Therefore, the road traffic to Coimbatore from the Palakkad-Salem Highway, will be affected during the above work. The District Administration has been approached to divert the road traffic through Madukkarai Market Road from 30.09.2016 (Thursday ) to 14.00 hours on 03.10.2016 (Monday).
However, no passenger carrying trains will be cancelled in this account. The following trains are likely to be delayed enroute from 10 minutes to half an hour on 02.10.2016 and 03.10.2016
