Railway police fines people for misusing physically-handicapped coaches

A fine of Rs. 500/- was collected from passengers who were found travelling in coaches reserved for physically challenged persons in suburban and express trains. 

The Railway Police have reacted to the pouring complaints from the passengers about unauthorised travellers misusing the compartment specially allotted for the benefit of handicapped people. In a surprise checking drive conducted today at the Chennai - Alapuzha express, 10 people were identified for undergoing the offence. 



The Railway Police have planned to continue such drives to avoid misusage and ensure ease of travel for the physically handicapped people.
