Today marks the World Heart Federation’s biggest day to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Every year 29th September is celebrated as World Heart Day. Close to 17.3 million lives have been claimed every year due to heart disease and stroke, says statistics. Understanding the importance and need to create awareness among the people on early diagnostic ways of heart diseases and preventive measures, The World Heart Federation urges greater action from policy makers, healthcare professionals, patient organizations and individuals to work together to reduce the burden of heart disease and stroke, and ensure people all over the world can have longer and better lives.
An interactive public session was planned by GKNM hospital at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan School in the aim to make their expertise team of doctors available for the public to clear their queries on heart diseases.
