District DMK party members seek change in ticket allotment at Ward No:53

With the last date for filing nominations getting closer, the DMK party cadres in the district have expressed their dissatisfaction in allotment of seats for the upcoming local body elections.

Today, the cadres staged a protest by tying black clothes on their mouths demanding a change of candidate in Ward No:53. The cadres alleged, the proposed candidate for Ward No:53 doesn't belong to the ward and hasn't worked any bit for the party.

Unexpectedly during the protest, Murugesan of 39th Ward Secretary tried to immolate himself at the protest alleging the Party for not granting him Ward Secretary post. Shocked by his sudden move, the party cadres stopped and pacified him. Though for a brief time, the DMK party Office bore a tense look due to the incidents.
