From a distance it looked as if posters of legends who are a part of the south Indian music industry have been placed on the table. However on getting closer we realize that it is indeed a cake that has been baked to perfection. And this one, we must add is no ordinary cake. Creators of this piece claim that it is the longest photo cake that has been baked in our city.

The first-of-its-kind eggless cake that weighs 600-kgs and measures 600-metrs in length is a creation of The French Loaf which is a part of Oriental Cuisines Private Limited (OCPL). We are told that funds that are collected from the sales of this cake will be handed over to NGO Dean Foundation and to Shankara Eye Foundation. All this is a part of Joy Of Giving’s Daan Utsav.

The presence of M Madhadevan, Chairman and Managing Director, Oriental Cuisines Private Limited, Reynold Fernandes, CEO, Oriental Cuisines Private Limited at this event was like icing on the cake.
If the cake was treat for the eyes, contemporary melodies and evergreen hits of the yesteryears were brought alive by the father-daughter duo of singers Srinivas and Sharanya Srinivas was indeed a feast for the ears.

On the sidelines of this occasion, Chef Boopesh, Corporate Chef, The French Loaf said “We are thrilled to create the longest photo cake in Coimbatore, for a cause. We have used 300-kgs of chocolate mix, 85-kgs of fresh cream, 200-kgs of dark chocolate, 60-kgs of white chocolate, 30-kgs of fruit gel and 600 icing sheets to ready this cake.” Boopesh said.

“The French Loaf is more than happy to create this innovative cake for a cause. In Chennai we have been conducting this event for the last five-years and we have received great response. We are happy that in Coimbatore too, this concept has many takers. What is truly motivating is the fact that all proceeds will be used to support those who are suffering from life threatening diseases and disorders.” Reynold said.
