Two people who were among the six injured in a dryer explosion at a factory in Sidco industrial area near Thiruporur in Kancheepuram succumbed to their injuries on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Arul, 47, from Chidambaram and Sathish, 37, from Kundrathur. Murugan, 34, died on Thursday.
Police said that Arul joined Shri Vinayaga Chemicals Intermediates a decade ago, while Satish worked there for the last five years.
The explosion happened on Wednesday and six people were injured. On Wednesday, at 2.30 pm, when one of worker switched on the dryer at Shri Vinayaga Chemicals Intermediates, a company that manufactures amino acid derivatives, it exploded. In the impact, six people suffered injuries including Krishna Prasad (28) from Chengalpet, Richard (25) of Kovilpatti and Munna (25), a native of Odisha. They were given first aid and taken to a hospital. Chengalpet government hospital, where their condition is said to be stable. Three others Arul, Sathish and Murugan were undergoing treatment at government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital (KMCH). On Saturday night Arul succumbed to his injures. At around 3 am on Sunday Sathish died in the hospital without responding to the treatment.
A case has been registered with the Thiruporur police station on charges of causing death due to negligence. Investigations are on.
