Today, October 3, is the last day to file nominations for the local body elections. Initially, yesterday, October 2 was the last day for filing of nominations. The same being a Government holiday, the Election Commission has made it official that candidates can file their nominations today.
As of this writing, 5,560 nominations have been received and more number of candidates are expected to file their nominations today. The Election Commission has announced that those who wish to cancel their nominations can do so on or before October 7.
Local body elections will take place on October 17 and 18.
