CBCID release photos of suspects in Sasikumar murder case

In the latest development in Sasikumar's murder case, the Crime Branch Crime Investigation Division (CBCID) has released CCTV images of persons, who were found suspicious and the police are unable to trace out the whereabouts of these people.  These are images obtained from CCTV cameras fixed on the way from the District BJP office to Subramaniapalayam (the crime spot).

The police hope that by circulating these footages will help them identify the whereabouts of these people. Hence, the police have asked the public to share any information on the people recorded in the CCTV footages at: [email protected] or contact 94981-04441. The police have also requested that these people in the footages can also contact the CBCID (SID) Police at the Police Recruitment School Campus (PRS), Avinashi road and reveal their identities.

About two weeks after the police withdrew protection that was provided to him, Hindu Munani functionary Sasikumar was murdered. Initially, the police formed six teams to probe the murder of the Sasikumar. However, in an order dated September 27, the Director General of Police (DGP) T.K. Rajendran has ordered the Crime Branch Crime Investigation Division (CBCID) police to probe into the murder of Sasikumar.

It may be recalled that an unidentified gang hacked Sasikumar to death close to midnight of September 22, which resulted in unrest in the city for three days.
