According to a source Gayathri (21), a resident of Ondipudur was in love with one of her relatives. On becoming aware of this relationship, her parents Balakrishnan and Tamilselvi, strongly opposed the same.
A dejected Gayathri took the extreme step. Last evening, while she was home alone she hung herself at her residence. It is reported that on reaching home, Tamilselvi was shell-shocked to notice her daughter.
The incident was reported to Singanallur police station and the investigation is on.
