Rajkumar (24) hailing from Cuddalore was arrested on charges of providing fake proof(s) of identity while purchasing an expensive mobile phone at a private mobile store located in Gandhipuram.
Yesterday, Rajkumar visited the mobile store and requested the sales person to show him the latest models of expensive mobile phones. He zeroed down on purchasing a costly mobile phone. He expressed his wish to pay for the mobile phone using Easy Monthly Instalment (EMI) options from Bajaj Finance Company.
The Assistant Manager at this store, Rajesh obtained required documents like aadhar card, voter identity card, drivers license and electricity bill copy from Rajkumar. While verifying the document the manager noticed some discrepancy in the documents.
Upon taking a closer look the manager at the store learnt that the documents were pseudo. The manager claims that the documents that were provided by (Rajkumar) had Rajkumar’s photograph and someone else’s information.
Manager at the store, Rajesh immediately alerted the Katoor Police. All the documents that were provided were seized from by the police and he was remanded to police custody.
The police revealed that Rajkumar has been involved in many such cheating cases in Kerala.
