This morning the debut edition of shopping festival Kovai Santhai was declared open by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) N. Karthik and Coimbatore-based, Mrs. India Earth 2016, Jaya Mahesh. Kovai Sandhai is an initiative of Nivedhitha Jayaraj and Lavanya Senthil.

This two-day shopping festival has something for everyone. Close to 100 stalls have been put up by vendors from in and around the region. Kovai Santhai is hosted at Jenneys Residency on Avinashi Road in the city.

Founder and owner of Blue Tree boutique from Ooty is positive of doing good business at the expo. Raji rajesh of C for Chocolate brand based out of Palakkad says that being in Coimbatore is an awesome feeling.
At this shopping expo, she has displayed some of her rare varieties of homemade customised chocolates. Also on display at this expo is one of her masterpieces, the homemade beeda chocolate. Raji is a regular participant at shopping expos and sales. She does not have any sales targets, Raji however aims at spreading the awareness about her brand through these expos.

Yet another stall that had curious onlookers is the one put up be Gowri.
She sells natural products like cereal pulses and grains under the brand name Vural. This city-based company is owned by Gowri herself. She educates us that products that are sold by the company are sourced from the farmers directly. The farmers take advantage of natural fertilizers to produce the products. In this manner, Vural is supporting about two dozen farmers across our state. Through her company Gowri is hoping to keep the process of natural farming alive.
Kovai Santhai offers visitors a lot more. From the latest trends in clothing for men, women and children to shopping for products for your home this diwali season, Kovai Santhai has on display and for sale all this and more.
This shopping festival will conclude tomorrow October 9. Entry to Kovai Santhai is free and visiting hours are between 9 am to 7 pm on both the days.
