Women seeks action against headmaster who discriminated her son based on caste


Palaniammal from S.Malaiaandipattanam in Pollachi petitioned the Coimbatore District collector seeking action against the headmaster and the art master of the A. Nagore government central school for discriminating her son, Anand a std 11 student, on basis of caste. In her petition, she has said that the headmaster and the art master of the A. Nagore school had on several occasions verbally abused her son by using the caste name. The women also stated that her son was slapped by the duo four times. 



“On learning of this incident, my brother and I visited this school and had a word with the headmaster. We were surprised when the headmaster told us that is how the students are treated.” Palaniammal said. She added that the headmaster also told that if she is hurt she can refrain from sending her son to school.

Palaniammal also submitted the complaint that she had registered with the Gomangalam Police station on the incident  She also annexed with her petition hospital receipts affirming that Anand was admitted at the Government hospital as an in-patient and was treated for his injuries caused by the teachers.  Palaniammal has urged in her petition to take stern action against the teachers and head master for their inhumane behaviour, under prevention of atrocities act and also against the police personnel for failing to initiate action against the offenders.
