Though women have to shoulder lot of responsibilities on the domestic front, they should also think of achieving in life, said Suhasini Maniratnam, actor.
She was addressing the gathering after giving away the ‘Sadhana 2016’ awards, at a ceremony organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and industry Ladies Organisation here.
According to her, today women were making their presence felt in every field. Women should have the confidence of achieving in any field. She said that women should not worry or let their spirits go down even if they encountered some setbacks or failures.
Ms. Suhasini also recollected how she started her career as an actor and how she overcame difficulties and emerged successful.
Sadhana is FLO’s signature annual event which aims at honouring women achievers on the occasion of Women’s Day. The theme for this year was ‘Celebrating Women Entrepreneurship’. Two women were recognised at the event, one at the grass root level and the other at a corporate level. Ms. Ranjana Singhal is an entrepreneur and restaurateur who runs a popular chain of restaurants. D. Yuvarani is an entrepreneur and beautician who has set up two beauty salons in the city.
