Ganga Medical Centre & Hospitals celebrate their fourth Founder's Oration


The Ganga Medical Centre & Hospitals & Pvt Ltd. undoubtedly has placed the city of Coimbatore in global maps for its excellence in the field of Orthopaedics and Plastic & Microsurgery. Dedicated patient care, surgical expertise, academics, medical ethics and state of the art technology are the parameters that have won several global and national accolades for the institute. 

It all started in 2013, when Dr.S. Rajasekaran and Dr.S. Rajasabapathy, World-renowned specialists in the field of Orthopaedics and Plastic & Micro Surgery decided to honour the pillars of their strength and the founders of this paramount institute, their parents Dr.J.G.Shanmuganathan & Mrs. Kanagavalli Shanmuganathan.



Yesterday, the hospital celebrated their fourth Founder's Oration day at their hospital. Dr. S. Rajasabapathy welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guests. 



Mrs. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee Siruthuli, Vice Chairman of Pricol and President - ICCI, Coimbatore Chapter was the chief Guest for the function. 



The founder’s oration was given by Mr. Venu Srinivasan, Sundaram Clayton Group, a ‘Padmasri’ honour recipient and a recipient of ‘Order of Diplomatic Service Merit’ by the Republic of Korea. A visionary and pioneer in quality management in all his spheres, Venu Srinivasan delivered the oration address on the topic ‘Values that Build Institutions’. He in his address emphasised on the role played by the founders in organisational development. He cited examples and briefed real-time efforts of the founders in transforming small-time organisations into empires.  



About the Founders:

Started in 1978 as a 17-bedded hospital, the then Ganga Nursing Home was founded by Dr.J.G.Shanmuganathan & Mrs.Shanmuganathan with the mission ‘to provide quality treatment at an affordable cost so that the expertise will be available to every citizen of our country’. Their relentless dedication and perseverance and guidance have lifted the hospital from a 17-bedded to a globally renowned medical centre, specialising in Orthopaedics and Plastic and Micro Surgery. In 1990, the Shanmuganathan Kanakavalli Speciality Centre was started by Dr.S.Raja Sabapathy and Dr.S.Rajasekaran in honour of their parents. 

Accident Surgery, Trauma and Spinal Surgery, the introduction of Microsurgical procedures, Reconstruction of severely injured limbs, replantation of completely amputated parts, advanced skeletal fixation are their specialisations. Today the centre is internationally known for their state-of-art medical care and their excellence in academics & research. The centre has produced hundreds of renowned Orthopaedics and Plastic surgeons across the globe through their accredited courses and excellence in academics & research.
