Release innocent victims from jail. Parents petition district collector

Hindu Munnani leader C Sasikumar was attacked and hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Coimbatore. Following his murder, violence broke in several parts in our city. The city police have so far arrested and detained over 800 persons in this regard. A majority of them have been arrested under the GOONDAS act.



Parents of five people who have been arrested for the violence have petitioned the Coimbatore collector requesting to release their children who are lodged in jail. Gunasekaran and Rathinam from Thudiyalur in their petition said, “Our son Manivannan is working as a labourer. Police have arrested him for violence on 26th last month. He is innocent and has not been released till now. Police should release him and arrest the true culprits in this case” they said.
