Air seva portal to receive feedback; on trial in Chennai

Chennai: Air passengers will soon be able to post feedback and complaints about inadequate service from airlines and airports in an exclusive portal - Air Seva - which is on the final leg of trials at Chennai airport. The site may also have information about departure and arrival of flights at airports. The ministry of civil aviation will launch the portal and a mobile app after internal trials are completed. Major airports have their own websites and apps while a host of smaller airports does not have a web presence.

The website is designed to eliminate this shortfall and bring together information about all airports and airlines on a single portal. Feedback and complaints posted by passengers will be directly reviewed by the ministry.

A senior official of the ministry said, "Trials held in Mumbai and Delhi were successful. The ministry may take a decision to launch it after the trial in Chennai is complete."

Once it is launched, passengers need not log into websites of airlines and airports. It will also offer a common platform to post feedback on the various services offered by airports and airlines. Live flight information, including delays and rescheduling, will also be available through the portal.

The website will be linked to information from the airport operations control centre which tracks flight movements of different airports.
