Exclusive help desk for women inaugurated at the Coimbatore Railway Junction


Today marks the ninth year of commencement of the Salem Division of the Southern Railways. To commemorate the day, an exclusive help desk for women was inaugurated at the Coimbatore railway Junction. This help desk will be manned by Lady Police and employees of the Department of Commerce, Southern Railways, Salem Division.



The all women's help desk is situated next to the ticket reservation counter of the Coimbatore Junction. A well-equipped feeding room for lactating mothers was also launched along with this help desk.

 



Sources share that currently there are seven such exclusive women’s help desk functional under the Indian Railways. The one at the Coimbatore Junction is the first to be functional under the Salem Division of the Southern Railways. The division plans of setting up similar exclusive help desks for women passengers in all major railway stations that are under the purview of the Southern Railways.
