Communist party of India's (CPI) senior party leader C. Ramachandran passed away this evening at 8:30 pm at Mettupalayam.
Affectionately known as CR, he has served the CPI party for more than five decades. CR has also been elected twice as councillor for ward number 25, Mettupalayam. In recent days, he was reported to be sick due to general ageing ailments and was getting treated at a private hospital in Mettupalayam.
Senior leaders of CPI and leaders of other political outfits have been registering their deepest sympathy for his death.
