Sandalwood tree fellers handed over to police by public


In the Thambi Gounder thottam in Kuniyamuthur two men felled a sandalwood tree with the plans of escaping with the booty. A few resident of that area caught the offenders red-handed and informed the Kuniyamuthur police.

Upon interrogation the offenders were identified as Ramaswami (23) and Nagaraj. And, that the duo have previous records with similar charges. The police also recovered some cut branches of sandalwood tree from Nagaraj’s residence. A case has been registered against the two, they are presently lodged in the central prison.
