Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of this short film festival today S P Muthuraman appreciated GRD Institution for the dedication towards educating students. “Such efforts that are taken by the institution enable students to excel in all fields. Presently, the market for short films is thriving. A lot of talented film makers are involved in the creation of short films. Making a short film is not a cake walk. It requires the maker to be creative and innovative. Those who cannot make commercial films can try their hands at short films.” Muthuraman said.

He added that making a commercial film requires a lot of funds. Those who cannot afford to make a commercial film can involve in making and producing short films. He urged the students to look beyond the four walls of their class rooms for seeking knowledge.
Bringing back the focus to the film festival, Muthuraman advised the students not to just simply watch the short films. “You must all take back lessons from the short films and understand how creatively the message is delivered within a limited period of time.” Muthuraman said.
Speaking to the audience at the inauguration of this event, Shanthi Vijaya made an official announcement that this short film festival will be an annual event going ahead at their institute. This event is scheduled to conclude on 4th November 2016.
