Construction workers stage a sit-in protest seeking pension


At the labour welfare office on Trichy Road, a few construction workers of the unorganised sector are staged a sit-in protest seeking pension. It has been reported that they have put forth their request for pension through The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC).



However, the welfare board of construction workers has rejected their demand for pension. Construction workers of the unorganised sector who are over 60-years of age demand that they have to be given pensions too. The protestors tied a piece of black cloth around their mouth and showcased their discontent.
