CDAC hosts 7th edition of state level swimming meet at Jenneys Club today



In order to promote a competitive spirit among children and to provide them with a wider platform to interact, compete and improve their skills, the 7th edition of the Coimbatore District Aquatic Committee (CDAC) was hosted at Jenneys Club yesterday. Vincent Adaikalraj, President, CDAC and Managing Director, Jenneys Club, Coimbatore, has been promoting swimming in our city for more than a decade.



This swimming contest that is exclusively organized for school children from Tamil Nadu was hosted at the swimming pool at Jenneys Residency (P) Ltd. Participants were divided into various categories and the best 3 performers in each category were awarded with the swimmers trophy. Chennai Public School, St. Britto's academy and Velammal matriculation school from Chennai, Vikaasa World School from Madurai, SAV Balakrishna School from Tirunelveli, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Amirta Vidhyalayam, Ettimadai and Yuvabharathi Public School from Coimbatore were the participants.



Securing 208 points (Boys-151, Girls-57) the SAV Balakrishna School from Tirunelveli won the first prize and with 145 points (Boys - 85, Girls - 60) Amrita Vidhayalam Coimbatore won the second. 

Under various other categories other schools were also awarded with prizes.
