'The Guardians of the sky' (GOTS) an initiative of the Indian Air Force was flagged off from Delhi on August 18 this year. This is a student initiative of the Indian Air Force. It aims to showcase various facets of the the Indian Air Force to aspirants and to provide guidance on career opportunities that are available in Indian Air Force.
As part of this, one school and four colleges in Coimbatore namely Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hindusthan Arts and Science College, Karunya University, Amrita School of Engineering and Coimbatore Institute of Technology Coimbatore, have been selected as nodal centres for the drive from 7th to 11 November 2016.
Students from various schools and colleges in Coimbatore have been invited to participate in this drive at the respective nodal centres. The programme includes motivational lecture by the Air Headquarters team followed by question answer session and also exposure to ‘Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle’ which has Pictorial display of Information and various aspects of career opportunities in The Indian Air Force, Air Traffic Control Zone, Experience/Information Zone, Flying Accessories and Flight Simulator Zone.
This drive would travel about 7000 Kms covering 23 cities in six months to target about 250 premier educational institutes by 17 Feb 2017.
