Wild elephant found dead with bullet injuries in Wayanad

Elephants trespassing into agricultural field, public and private property and resident establishments and being attacked by human beings has been reported in the past. A fresh case of one such incident has been reported last morning Wayanad.

It has been reported that a wild tusker was found with bullet injuries at Kenichira in Wayanad. This elephant was found in a paddy field at Athirattukunni in Kenichira last morning.

The incident was noticed by the Chethalayam range which is under the South Wayanad division. There were reports of elephants which generally come down to agricultural fields being attacked. Police have arrested two persons earlier in connection with shooting and killing of three pachyderms in a span of six months.
