The Guardians Of The Sky (GOTS) expo which is an initiative of The Indian Air Force has made a pit stop in our city. As a part of this expo, a bus showcasing the various facets of The Indian Air Force will travel to chosen educational institutions in our city. This expo is aimed at students and this bus also called as Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle was stationed at the Kendriya Vidyalaya yesterday. Around 500 students visited this expo yesterday. Today, this bus is at the Hindusthan Arts and Science College. GOTS is organised at Hindusthan Arts and Science College in partnership with Corporate relations.
Inside this bus a pictorial representation of the various aspects of The Indian Air Force are presented. There are models of various air crafts and gadgets that are used by the Air Force, a chart representing the career that an individual can have with the air force, air traffic control zone, experience and information zone, flying accessories and flight simulator zone on display at the Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle.
Speaking exclusively to SimpliCity, Wing Commander, Sangeetha said “The aim of this drive is not to hand-pick aspirants to join the Air Force. Through this drive we want to create awareness about functioning of Air Force and we would also like to educate the public especially students about the various aspects like air traffic control zone and others. This expo will travel across our country and we have plans of taking this expo to smaller regions as well.”
A batch of about 10 students visited the Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle at one time. One of the students Pavitran, who is pursuing his third year Bachelor of Computer Science with the Hindusthan Arts and Science College, after visiting the Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle said “This expo is an eye opener for me as I have been made aware of the various aspects of the Air Force. I am considering a career in the Indian Air Force seriously.”
This drive would travel about 7,000-Kms will visit 23 cities in six months time. About 250 premier educational institutes will be covered through this drive that is expected to conclude by 17 Feb 2017.
