Retired TNEB employees stage protest demanding resolution on long pending demands

Retired employees of the Tami Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) staged a protest demanding a resolution for their long pending demands. State Presidents of retired electricity board employees unions lead the protests. During the protest they raised various demands. One of their demands included organizing meeting at regular intervals to seek a solution to the pending issues of the retired electrify board employees. They also demanded that the society service period should also be considered under the new pension scheme.



Protestors also demanded extension of time for enrolling themselves in the new medical insurance scheme. Gratuity Dues have not been paid for 15,000 employees who took voluntary retirement that should be paid immediately. The protestors demanded that gratuity should be paid to the employees as per the Pensioners Gratuity law 1972. Another demand that was also made is that vacant posts be filled.

Currently, the differently abled children of former employees of TNEB are getting family pension. Protestors demanded that this pension be continued until the death of the beneficiaries.

Office bearers, Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Employee Welfare Association Ramachandran Treasurer, Nachimuthu, Subramanian, Arumugam Assistant Presidents and over 150 retired employees of the TNEB participated in the protest.
