Election Commission team coming today

A team of officials from the Election Commission of India (EC) in Delhi would be arriving in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday to oversee the arrangements for the polls in Aravakurichi and Thanjavur, and the bypoll in Thirupparankundram Assembly constituencies scheduled on November 19. According to the EC, the team would also oversee the preparations for the bypoll in Nellithope constituency in Puducherry, where Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy is among the candidates.

Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha, Director General Dilip Sharma of Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell along with Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni would meet senior officials, police officers and those involved in the election process.
