Coimbatore chapter Congress President requests district collector to help cash-stripped public to exchange cash

Congress committee president of the Coimbatore chapter, V.M.C. Manoharan has said in a press release today, “People are suffering ever since the announcement of prime minister issuing a ban on Rs.500 and Rs.100 rupee notes. People are standing in long queues in front of ATMS and Banks. People are unable to change their currency due to non-availability of the new currency.

The finance minister has said that as there is no facility to fill the ATM machines with the new currency it will take another month for the present situation to change. District collector should take necessary steps to help the people in this situation with alternate plans. Collector should take steps to facilitate the transactions through cooperative banks. We also request the heads of the banks in Coimbatore to make necessary arrangements to make the new currency available for the people.”
