The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage (CMWSS) Board has said that customers can use old notes in the 500 and 1,000 denominations to pay bills and arrears. The counters of the utility will be open from 8.30am to 5.30pm through the week, including Saturdays and Sundays. E-seva centres will also accept old notes, a statement said.
