Bengaluru school to donate Rs 50 lakh to soldiers

Students, teachers and management of a city school have come together and pooled in Rs 50 lakh to be donated to the Army Welfare Fund.

This comes a month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealing to the country to send inspiring messages to soldiers of Indian Army during Diwali.Chairman of the New Horizon Educational Institution Mohan Manghnani will hand over the money to Major General KS Nijjar, general officer commanding, Karnataka and Kerala sub-area, on Thursday.

"After getting inspired by PM Modi's #Sandesh2Soldiers call last month, we decided to carry on with our mission in supporting our armed forces. This is our humble contribution,'' he said.
