Specially blessed children participate in sports meet hosted at Nehru Indoor Stadium

The first round of sports meet for the differently abled school children began today at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Coimbatore. About 450 students from Coimbatore participated in the event. Children who have a problem with their vision, mentally underdeveloped children and children with hearing difficulties participated in the sports meet.



Students who are under 14-years of age and who are studying in sixth to eight standard participated in 50-meters running, standing broad jump and tennis ball throw sports events. The same competitions were also hosted for students who are aged between 15 and 17 years who are studying in 11th and 12th standard.

The audience who witnessed the events praised the players for their sportsmanship. Each of the players participated in the sporting events with great enthusiasm. The second leg of the competitions will be hosted in December. The organisers share that all the participants will be rewarded with prizes.
