Coonoor woman dies at private hospital after taking medication for fever


Balu is from Quail hill area in Nilgiris district. He is married to Violet. They have two daughters Arulmozhi and Kavitha (24). Kavitha was working as an Assistant professor in a private college in Chennai.

She came to Coonoor during holidays and it is reported that she developed fever. She was admitted to a private hospital in Coonoor. Doctors gave her medicines for the fever and sent her home.

When Kavitha took medicines in a few minutes she developed rashes all over the body and her hands and her legs started to turn black. The allergy became severe even after re-admitting her to same hospital and providing treatment, her condition did not improve.

On Thursday Kavitha's condition worsened and she died. Kavitha's parents informed the police about the incident. Police sent the body to the Coimbatore General Hospital (GH) for post-mortem. Police have registered a case on the private hospital and are investigating.
