Bengaluru Urban deputy commissioner V Shankar on Friday said 189 acres of land worth Rs 1,000 crore was recovered from people who had either encroached it or took possession by creating fake documents. The land was recovered near Maligondanahalli village, Kengeri. In one case, an industrial unit created fake documents to show the government had allotted them 55 acres. "We've taken the land back and seized tar-mixing machines, two JCBs, and four tipper trucks," Shankar said.
