2.70 acres amounting to Rs.40.3 crores of encroached reserve sites retrieved by CCMC.

As part of its efforts to retrieve reserved sites that are been encroached, over 2.70 acres of land amounting to Rs. 40.3 crores have been retrieved by the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC).

An Official press release from the CCMC Special Officer Vijayakarthikeyan reads that 'In all five zones,a dedicated team of officials of the Town Planning Department have been deputed to check on all reserve sites that has been allotted at every street for common purposes.We have acted upon the complaints received from the people through CCMC's whatsapp groups and also through random visits by the officials. Since the process of evacuation began, we have retrieved 2.70 acres of land in total, worth 40.3 crores.

A board indicating CCMC's ownership of the property has been installed at all retrieved sites to avoid future encroachments. Shortly, fencing would be carried out in all such places'.

Ward No:7 - Koundampalayam - Auto Nagar - 14 cents - Rs. 1.5 crores.
Ward No:7 - Edayarpalayam - Sri Devanga Nagar - 15 cents - Rs. 1.5 crores
Ward No:7 - Edayarpalayam - Sri Devanga Nagar - 10.15 cents - Rs. 1 crores

North Zone:
