District Congress party stage protest condemning demonetisation

Highlighting the difficulties faced by the common man due to the announcement of demonetisation, several political outfits have been raising their agitation through protests and rallies. Today, the Congress party of the Coimbatore district staged a protest at the Collectorate.

Hundreds of party members led by District Congress Party Head VMC Manoharan, raised slogans against PM's decision of demonetisation by claiming it to be 'Unplanned' and that it has left the common man's daily life in lurch. The protestors also placed a wreath in front of SBI ATM, sarcastically claiming it to be dead due to insufficient funds.

The party members marched towards the State Bank Of India, Main Branch near Railway Station to protest against lack of funds in the banks and ATM's, however they were arrested by the police.
