Patient on stretcher visits collector’s office to apply for assistance under government’s insurance scheme


In a heart-wrenching incident a patient himself came to the collector’s office in an ambulance to apply for the assistance under the Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme. Chandrakumar and his wife met with an accident last week in which both were seriously injured. Both of them are admitted to a private hospital.

Chandrakumar had an insurance policy under the Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme. He was informed that in order to get assistance under the scheme the beneficiary should visit the collector’s office in person to apply.



Following which stretcher borne Chandrakumar, with the help of the hospital staff visited the collector’s office in an ambulance and applied for assistance under this scheme.
