Aram Foundation Charitable Trust instills a ray of hope in prison inmates.


A team of volunteers from the Aram Foundation Charitable Trust joined hands with District Legal Services Authority to host a social and moral awareness programme. This programme was hosted for the inmates of the Coimbatore Central Prison. Senior Civil Judge/Secretary -DLSAC V. John Mino along with the Additional Superintendent of Prison, Coimbatore also participated in this awareness programme that was hosted at the auditorium of the Coimbatore Central Prison.

The aim of this awareness programme was to sensitize the inmates about the ill effects of anger and consumption of liquor. Importance of education, respecting women, leading a dignified life, handling children, cleanliness, responsibility towards society, compassionate on fellow human beings were emphasised to the inmates. 



The volunteers of Aram Foundation Charitable Trust through their plays reinstated the importance of helping others and important messages like saying no to child labour, child abuse, avoiding urinating or defecating in public places in lines with the Swachh Bharat movement, refraining from hurting others was also conveyed. The play also encouraged the inmates to work hard and not feel put themselves down. The members of this NGO also entertained the inmates with a dance performance and cheered them.



The awareness programme was coordinated by the trustee of Aram Foundation Charitable Trust, Advocate, Siva Kumar. This is the fifth such programme that has been hosted for the inmates of Central Jail. After the programme, Siva Kumar was honoured in the backdrop of a roaring applause from the jail inmates who thoroughly enjoyed the programme.
