SITRA to sign MoU with ISRO

The SITRA will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) soon with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to develop an unfurlable antenna. Currently fabric is imported for this and the cost is nearly Rs. 1 lakh for a sq.metre. SITRA is already doing a project for ISRO for the last 10 years.

It now plans to develop a wider width antenna, said its director Prakash Vasudevan. The Centre of Excellence for Medical Textiles at SITRA, which is another centre of excellence supported by the Ministry of Textiles, here is focusing on several products such as implants, clothing, etc. for the healthcare sector.
