Common Admission Test tomorrow; candidates take note

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016, a gateway to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), will be conducted on December 4 in two separate sessions. It will be conducted in 138 cities across India. IIM Bangalore is the convener this year.

In a release on Friday, the office of CAT 2016 convener said the duration of the examination will be 180 minutes. There will be three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC); Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA).

Some questions in each section may not be multiple-choice ones. Direct answers are to be typed on the screen. Candidates will be allowed to use the basic on-screen calculator for computation. They will be allotted exactly 60 minutes to answer questions in each section and cannot switch from one section to another without completing one section. Aspirants can refer to the test day video and mock test available on the CAT 2016 website. The results are expected to be declared during the second week of January.
