Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH) organised a breast and cervical cancer screening camp exclusively for women police personnel today. This camp was hosted at Police Recruitment School Campus in our city. A. Amalraj, the Commissioner of Police inaugurated this special medical camp.

In his inaugural address, Commissioner of Police said “Women don’t take care of their health. Doctors say that a majority of cancers can be cured completely.. Breast and ovarian cancer can be prevented, if women follow the advice and health tips provided by doctors. KMCH has been hosting such exclusive camps for women in villages too, which is very appreciable. It is very encouraging to see several women police personnel from police training school in Coimbatore and their family members participating in this medical camp. The women who participate in these camps should create awareness about breast and ovarian cancer among other women and educate them on screening tests to detect cancer” he said.

At this camp, screening for breast cancer and pap smear tests were done for free of cost and also experts offered free consultation to participants. More than 225 women police personnel and their family members benefited from this camp.
A highly placed source from this hospital shared “KMCH will continue to host medical camps especially for women and we will also work towards spreading awareness about health and hygiene among the public, especially women.”
