Cyclone Vardah: CCMC deploys work force and invites public to donate relief materials to Chennai.


As heavy rains continue to lash Chennai due to Cyclone 'Vardah', 176 relief operation centers have been formed to cater to the needs of the people.

In the mean time, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) is sending 150 sanitary workers to support the relief and rescue operations in Chennai.



CCMC has invited materials for the sanitary workers. Those who are interested in making a contribution can provide the requirement for basic amenities kit needed for them that is be carried along with the sanitary workers. Items like soaps, tooth paste and brush, water cans, towels, bread/jam, biscuits, common medicines like vicks, paracetamol, antibiotics, bandage, ointments and painkillers can be contributed in any numbers.

CCMC has invited those interested in contributing relief materials to send the same latest by 8 pm to the Corporation Office that is located in Town hall Coimbatore. Contact 8056472237, 7708950011, 9791985668. The workforce along with the relief materials will leave by tonight.
