Coimbatore Corporation removes encroachment on land worth 12.3 crores

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and presiding officer K. Vijaykarthikeyan has stated that 1.24 acres of encroached corporation land which is worth Rs.12.3 crores have been cleared of encroachments and the corporation board has been installed.

When speaking about this drive Corporation Commissioner K. Vijaykarthikeyan said, “It was announced earlier that the land belonging to Coimbatore Corporation will be identified with the help of town planning officers and the encroachments on the land will be removed.

As per the announcement 1.24 acres of Corporation land worth Rs.12.3 crores have been removed of encroachments from the five corporation zones. The details of the encroachment that have been removed are 37 cents of land worth Rs.3.5 crores in Sowripalayam which is located in the 56th ward of Coimbatore Corporation which under South zone of Coimbatore Corporation.

About 25 cents of land from Kavundampalayam which was allocated to public use which comes under ward number 6 of Coimbatore Corporation. About 2 cents of land from Ganpathy Managar from ward 41 which is worth Rs.30 lakhs. Also Rs.2 crore worth of 20 cents of land from Mullai Nagar in Ward 89 in Sundakamuthur has been recovered. About 40 cents of land that was occupied in Kuniyamuthur in ward 90 of Coimbatore Corporation which is worth Rs.4 crores has been recovered. Land on which a road side shop in Sidhappudhur was set up which comes under ward 53 has been recovered.

In total Rs.12.3 crores of land of an area of 1.24 acres has been recovered and the Coimbatore Corporations board has been erected in such areas. Also the commissioner has stated that the drive will continue to remove encroachment from the land belonging to the Coimbatore Corporation.
