Following the demonetisation of high value currency by the Central government, all over India people exchanged their old currencies for the new currency through the banks. The demonetised noted which were received by the banks in Coimbatore were sent to Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Currency worth crores of rupees was sent to the RBI in four containers from Coimbatore.
