Corporation pulls down 2383 illegal hoardings and flexboards in the city.


As per the orders issued by the High Court to remove all illegal hoardings and advertisement banners, Coimbatore Corporation has been conducting drives to remove all such hoardings.

Since October 2016, close to 2383 advertisements hoardings have been removed from several parts in our city, through the drive jointly organised by Coimbatore Collector T. N. Hariharan, and Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan.

The hoardings from Raja street, Karuppa Gounder street, NSR road, Vilankurichi road and Avinashi road. About 35 advertisement hoardings have been removed on the stretch of road from the Vilankuruchi road junction leading to Nava India road junction on Avinashi road.

Special Officer, CCMC Vijayakarthikeyan has stated that 'The drive will continue till all illegal hoardings and advertisement banners are been removed in the city. The officials are also having a close watch to check on new posts being erected for putting up flex boards and hoardings at unauthorized places. Shortly, the team will act up on all flex boards that have been put up in prominent places like bus stands, foot paths etc., to garner the attention of the people. Stern legal action and fine will be imposed on those who violate the rules'
