SREC hosts Alumni meet

The alumni meet for 1997-2001 students who studied at the Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) was hosted this morning at the college campus. Principal of the College Dr. N.R. Alamelu delivered the inaugural address. Deputy managing trustee of SNR sons and charitable trust D. Lakshminarayanasamy released a book on the occasion.

Special address was delivered by Dr. D. A. Ebenezer Jayakumar, Educational Director of SNR and Sons Charitable Trust.  About 130 former students, from as far as America, Canada and Singapore participated in this meet. The students who passed out of this academic institution during the year 2000, made a donation of Rs.5 lakhs to the Principal to provide scholarships to the deserving students of this college.



An awareness programme on organ donation was conducted. Professors who worked at the college during the 1997-2001 were honoured by members of alumni association who are entrepreneurs now. The action plan of the alumni association for the future was presented by Chandini president of Alumni association. Dr. C. J. Thomas Reynold proposed the vote of thanks.
