One-year-old child suffering from dengue dies at Coimbatore government hospital.



Keerthana, a one-year-old girl child was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Tirupur for prolonged fever.  On 24th December, the doctors of the private hospital advised Keerthana's parents to shift her to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for further treatment.

On the day of admission, the doctors at CMCH had collected her blood samples and were awaiting for reports to decide upon the next course of treatment. But, unfortunately the child passed away on 25th December.

After the reports arrived, it was confirmed that the child had been suffering of Dengue fever. The child's body was handed-over to her parents.

Following the death of this child, the natives of Tirupur are struck in fear suspecting spread of dengue in their town.
